News to know

Conferences will be held the last week of October
Fall parent-teacher conferences will be held the last week of October. There is no late-start Wednesday that week. However, there will be three-hour early releases.

  • Primary students will be released early Monday through Friday, Oct. 27-31.

  • Middle school students will be released early Tuesday through Friday, Oct. 28-31.

  • High school students will be released early Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 29-31.

Family Community Resource Center fall outerwear giveaway
Drop by the Lewisville campus gym on Oct. 29 or Oct. 30 between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for free slightly used coats, hoodies, zip-up jackets and other items for families of Battle Ground Public Schools students. Many sizes are available. First come, first served.

Save the date: College and Career Fair Nov. 3
Attend the upcoming College and Career Fair to learn about apprenticeship programs, trade schools, military branches and colleges.

Prairie High School commons
Monday, Nov. 3, 2025
5–7 p.m.

Financial aid presentation from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in college and career center.

All students and their families, regardless of which school or district they attend, are welcome. This free event is open to the public.

Ballots have been mailed
Ballots have been mailed to all eligible registered voters for the Nov. 4 election. The last day to register online or by mail is Oct. 27. The deadline to register in person is Nov. 4. For more information, please visit the Clark County elections office webpage.

School board meeting recap
The Battle Ground Public Schools board of directors met on Monday, Oct. 13. See a video and summary of the meeting. The meeting included approval of updates to the nondiscrimination and facility use policies. In addition, the board tabled a policy revision regarding student discipline. The board’s next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 27, at the Lewisville campus and streaming online. It will begin with a work session/special meeting at 4 p.m. followed by a regular meeting at 6 p.m.

Interested in volunteering?
We are looking for volunteers! Volunteers play an important role in creating positive and supportive learning environments for students. Activities include helping in classrooms and school offices, greeting students, assisting with student pickup and more. Learn more and get started.

Refer a student to the Aspire Highly Capable Program
Do you know a student who demonstrates advanced academic abilities or potential? Through Dec. 5, the Aspire Highly Capable Program is accepting referrals for testing. Aspire is our highly capable/gifted education program. Get the details on the process and timeline.

Bus route updates
Many bus routes were updated this month. If your child’s route changed, you should have received a letter from First Student. You can also find bus route information in your Skyward Family Access account and on the district website. For questions about bus service, please call First Student at 360-841-7099. Thank you.
