HEALTH ROOM GUIDELINES

Students with life threatening health conditions are required to have a treatment plan completed before attending school.

Helpful Hints from Your School Nurse

Sick kids should be at home

Please notify school when your child will be absent

Attendance line - 885-6015 (available 24/7)

 If your child has a fever (over 100 degrees)…keep him/her home please!

 If your child has had a fever in the last 24 hours…keep him/her home please!

 If your child has vomited or had diarrhea within the last 48 hours…keep him/her home please!

 If your child has a rash and a fever, keep them home please!

 If your child has a red eye(s) with drainage, keep them home please!

 If you aren’t sure if your child is sick but has multiple complaints, especially headaches, stomachaches or persistent cough please keep him/her home!  (You’ll have to use your judgment on this one!) Or call the school nurse if you are unsure about sending them.

 If your child has a communicable rash keep them home.  Please keep open sores covered with a band-aid or with clothing.

 If your child has been fever free for 24 hourssend him/her to school!

 If your child has not vomited or had diarrhea within the last 48 hours…send him/her to school!

 If your child has a new medical diagnosis…please let the school nurse know!

 If your child has an injury that may affect their abilities at school…please call and let us know!

 Wash hands for at least 20-30 seconds with warm soapy water and don’t forget your thumbs, don’t share towels, use paper towels, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth when you are around someone that is sick.  Cover your cough with a tissue or cough/sneeze into your sleeve!
